Keith Sandor
Founder & CEO
Keith Sandor is an energy executive with 15+ years of experience in the Power & Utilities Sector. Most recently, Keith led a reputable Canadian energy storage developer into the U.S. market. Prior to this, Keith cultivated a unique background having worked in government, banking, and the industry. His understanding of power system planning, capital markets and engineering was acquired at some of the most reputable organizations including the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO), Scotiabank Global Banking & Markets, and the Ontario Power Generation (OPG). Keith holds a BASc in Civil Engineering from the University of Waterloo.
Andrew Lin, P. Eng., MBA, CFA
Corporate Development & Financing
Andrew is an Infrastructure and Project Finance professional with 20+ years of experience in the investment industry. More recently, he led the Infrastructure, Power and Utilities credit rating teams at DBRS Morningstar, covering renewable and conventional power projects, among other sectors. He also spent ten years at OMERS Infrastructure originating, managing and financing infrastructure assets, including those in the power sector. Earlier in his career, he was an investment banker at Scotiabank and a bond portfolio manager at Sun Life. Andrew is a professional engineer and a CFA charterholder. He studied Systems Design Engineering at the University of Waterloo and completed his MBA at York University’s Schulich School of Business. He is also a part-time finance course lecturer at York University’s Schulich School of Business.
Matthew Clarke, MBA
Corporate / Business Development
Matthew has over 10 years of experience in private investments and development in energy and real assets. Immediately before joining Nexus, Matthew was at National Bank of Canada focusing on Credit Capital Markets. Previously to that, he worked in corporate development at Algonquin Power. Through his experience in private market investments of real assets, he has worked on over $12B in transactions and has been part of developing and financing over 1.5GW of renewable energy projects, including solar. Matthew is a graduate with a BA in business from the University of Ottawa, holds an MBA from IE Business School in Spain, and is working on completing his CFA charter.
Semir Yousuf
Project Execution
Semir has over 10 years of electrical engineering and project management experience in the renewables sector. Over the course of his career, he has designed and overseen the installation of more than 100MW of Solar PV and BESS, with a focus on the U.S. market. Prior to joining Nexus, Semir worked at Sky Clean Energy as a senior electrical engineer where he was responsible for various activities relating to project engineering and management. Semir holds a BSc degree from Ryerson University.
Shannon Hallett, CA, CPA
Finance Director
Shannon is a senior finance leader and accounting professional with over 15 years of executive experience. Prior to joining Nexus, she was the CFO of a Canadian solar developer, leading the company through the development and sale of over $60M of solar projects located in Japan and Canada.
Formerly, Shannon has held the positions of VP Finance and Controller in various industries, including travel, auto, software, and telco. She has led teams in Finance, Treasury, FP&A, IT and Human Resources. Shannon specializes in ERP implementations, process improvements and executing tax planning strategies for multinational corporations. Shannon holds an Honours in Bachelor of Business Administration from Brock University.
David Pryor, MBA, CFA
Corporate Development & Secretary
David is a capital markets professional with over 20 years of experience spanning corporate & investment banking, project finance and institutional equity research, the majority of which was gained with primary dealers. He has covered a variety of industries over his career, with a particular focus on the capital-intensive energy and mining sectors. Having worked through several economic cycles, he brings a well-developed perspective regarding the analysis and financing of capital projects within the context of global markets, secular trends and regional, economic, political and social considerations. David holds an MBA in Finance from McMaster University and is a CFA charterholder.
Adnan Waheed, MBA, CFA
Corporate / Business Development
Adnan has 10+ years of experience and developed his career in the financial markets, with a growing focus on the renewable energy industry in North America. At his recent role at National Bank of Canada in institutional equity research, he conducted due diligence and valuation of hydro, wind and solar projects for independent power producers and utilities in the U.S. and Canada. As a former institutional broker, he is also experienced with leading business development efforts across various jurisdictions. Adnan holds an MBA in Finance from McGill University and a BEng in Computer Engineering from the University of Hong Kong as well as a CFA chartership.
Faizan Farooqi
Project Execution
Faizan brings ~10 years of project management experience in the renewables sector. During this time, he oversaw the development and execution of 100MW+ of renewable energy projects spanning Ontario, New York, New England and California. Most recently, he oversaw EPC activities at a global independent power producer with operations in Canada, United States and Turkey. Faizan brings a unique perspective on project management, having experience in both IPP and EPC / General Contractor capacities. Faizan holds a BSCE in Civil Engineering from Queen’s University.
Babatunde Balogun
Senior Project Manager
Babatunde has over 12 years of project experience in the Oil & Gas and Power industry. Before joining Nexus, he worked as a Project Planner on several onshore fabrication and offshore installation EPCIC projects with exploration and production companies such as BW Offshore, TotalEnergies, and ExxonMobil. Tunde's career covers oil production platforms, FPSOs, and fabrication yard development, having also worked on major and turnaround maintenance projects at Irving Oil Refinery in New Brunswick, Canada. Most recently, he was a Contract Specialist for hydro and thermal projects for the Northwest Territories Power Corporation in Northwest Territories, Canada. Tunde has a Bachelor of Technology degree in Management Technology and is on track to earning his Master’s in Energy Policy and Climate from Johns Hopkins University in the United States.
Grace Burke
Accounting
Grace is an accounting professional with over 25 years of experience. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience on the full accounting cycle, having previously held roles of Bookkeeper, Senior Accountant, Accountant and Senior Accounting Officer. Grace holds a diploma in accounting from the Association of Accounting Technician (AAT), Accounting and Payroll Administration diploma from Oxford College of Arts, Business and Technology, and is currently pursuing a designation through the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA).
